21,063 candidates register for MBBS/BDS under govt quota
As many as 21,063 candidates have applied for medical and dental courses in the State under government quota so far. The number of applications under management quota was at 11,237 on Monday.

A total of 19,054 medical aspirants have completed the registration payment and 11,312 of them have submitted applications. So far, about 3,800 medical candidates have sought exemption from fee payment as per their respective eligibility criteria.
Under the management category, 11,237 applications have been registered and 9,536 medical aspirants have completed the payment process. A total of 5,678 candidates have completed the application process after submitting the fee and necessary documents to the Directorate of Medical Education.
The application process for MBBS and BDS courses by the Directorate of Medical Education commenced on November 3. The last day of submitting filled-in applications is on November 12 at 5 pm. The State rank list is expected to be released on November 16.
The first round of counselling is likely to start from November 18 or in the last week of November. Medical aspirants from other boards/states/countries need to obtain an eligibility certificate from Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University. However, if they fail to submit the certificate with filled-in application, they can submit the documents at the time of offline counselling. Medical aspirants can access the application on tnhealth.tn.gov.in and in case of any corrections, the selection committee can be mailed at selmedi@yahoo.co.in.
