Kumari girl tops rank list for veterinary science courses, counselling dates soon
In the rank list released for Bachelor of Veterinary Studies (BVSc), released by Minister for Animal Husbandry Udumalai K Radhakrishnan, Vishnu Maya S Nair, from Kanniyakumari, topped the rank list by scoring 199.25 out of 200.

Addressing reporters, Radhakrishnan released the names of top five rank holders in BVSc and B-Tech courses offered by Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (TANUVAS) and said that the names of other rank holders and eligible candidates will be available in www.TANUVAS.ac.in and www2.TANUVAS.ac.in.
TANUVAS invited applications for BVSc and B-Tech in Food Technology, Poultry Technology and Dairy Technology from October 24 till November 9 through online.
For BVSC and Animal Husbandry (AH) courses 12,477 applications were received and out of them 11,246 were found eligible.
For vocational course in veterinary science and animal husbandry 163 applications were received and 137 were eligible. For B-Tech courses, 15,580 applications were received and out of them 13,901 were eligible.
“The counselling date for BVSc, vocational courses and B-Tech will be announced soon,” said the Minister.
The state government, through TANUVAS, offers a total of 580 seats for veterinary sciences and B-Tech courses across the state, including the newly added 120 seats for Veterinary Sciences in Thalaivasal in Salem district, Theni and Tirupur districts with 40 seats each in three colleges.
