No violation in bypassing arrear exams: TN govt to Madras HC

Tamil Nadu government obdurate in its stance, informed the court that no violation took place in cancelling arrear exams, it was in the interest of the students.

After hearing was stalled due to inconvenience caused by student audience on Friday, Madras High Court resumed with the arrear exam case.

Tamil Nadu government obdurate in its stance, informed the court that no violation took place in cancelling arrear exams, saying it was in the interest of the students.

Over and above, universities are vested with autonomy to cancel arrear exams and the government took the decision only after thorough consultation with universities, TN government added.

Higher Education department of the Tamil Nadu government filed its response to the counter-affidavit of University Grants Commission (UGC) calling to stop cancellation of arrear exams for students exception to final year.
