Amount of water released from Chembarambakkam lake increases to 3,000 cusecs
The government has given alert to people living in and around Adyar river to evacuate as soon as possible.

As the water level has been rising steadily in the Chembarambakkam lake, 3,000 cusecs of water have been released from the lake.
Flood warning has been issued in Adyar.
Earlier, Chembarambakkam lake was opened amidst the onset of Nivar cyclone and continuous rainfall. About 1,000 cusecs of water is initially released from the lake as the inflow is increasing. As the lake will reach its maximum capacity of 24 feet soon, the water has been released. The government has given alert to people living in and around Adyar river to evacuate as soon as possible.
