Villages in Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Tiruvannamalai districts receive flood warning
In order to handle the crisis that may occur after the increased inflow, the Public Works Department has issued flood warnings to 84 villages in Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvannamalai districts.

Kanchipuram District Collector Maheswari Ravikumar issued flood warning to 35 villages on Friday along Palar river as the inflow into the river has been increased to 20,000 cusecs so far. It is set to go up by another 20,000 cusecs in the due course.
In order to handle the crisis that may occur after the increased inflow, the Public Works Department has issued flood warnings to 84 villages in Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu and Tiruvannamalai districts. As the inflow in Palar river will be increased, surplus water is being released from Thenneri lake and Thandarai dam.
In Kanchipuram district, the villages that received flood warnings are, Perumbakkam, Muthuvedu, Sevilimedu, Orikkai. In Walajabadh, the villages that received flood warning are, Kuruvimalai, Avaloor, Uthiramerur, Thirukukoodal, Pinaayur, Oorkaattupettai. People from about 40 villages along the river banks are advised to stay safe and urged them to follow all precaution and safety measures.
