Actor Rajinikanth on Monday announced that he would announce his decision on political plunge as early as possible.
“I met with the district secretaries. They shared their opinions and I shared my views too. They assured me that they will abide by any decision taken by me. I will announce my decision (on political plunge) as soon as possible,” Rajinikanth told reporters at his Poes Garden Residence after two-hour closed-door meeting with the district secretaries of Rajini Makkal Mandram at Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam here.
After announcing the decision to launch his political party and contest the state assembly polls in December 2017, the actor has been hesitant to formally take a political plunge by starting his own party citing his health condition in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. With the state assembly polls less than six months away, the actor had convened his district secretaries to take a decision on the political party launch.
Immediately after the meeting got over, the district secretaries said that the actor would announce his final decision on the political plunge in a day or two. “Thalaivar (Rajinikanth) will announce a good decision by today evening or tomorrow. Whatever the decision was taken by him all the district secretaries have agreed to abide by it,” RMM Thoothukudi district secretary Stalin.
