“The DMK and other opposition parties have taken it up as there are no other issues specific to Tamil Nadu. Stalin should first spell out how these laws will affect the farmers,” he said in Salem, while addressing reporters following a review meeting on the development works and COVID-19 scenario.

Pointing out that farm laws will protect the interest of farmers, when price of their produce dips during surplus production, the Chief Minister said, “I met farmers in all districts across Tamil Nadu and asked them, if there are any flaws in these laws. They however had nothing to say negatively,” he said adding that the government has procured 32 metric tonnes of rice as against 23 metric tones last year due to poor demand The Chief Minister also accused the DMK of having failed to find a solution to the Cauvery water dispute.
