Pro-farmers protests turn into show of strength in Tiruchy, Karur

The Tiruchy cadres converged at the Anna statue roundabout at Chinthamani under the leadership of district secretaries Kaduvetti Thiyagarajan, Vairamani and Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi. A section of members came to the protest venue by bullock cart. The leaders who spoke among the massive cadre gathering that the DMK is the only party that is with the farmers.

They also charged that the Chief Minister who claims himself as a farmer, has been supporting the anti-farmer bill.

They raised slogans against the state and centre. While speaking, Mahesh condemned that the ministers have started counting notes to distribute to the people during election and the people are making themselves ready for teaching a lesson to AIADMK.

Meanwhile in Karur, the district in incharge V Senthil Balaji mobilized a heavy crowd for the protest which was organised at Karur town roundabout.

Sources said that Senthil Balaji too took it as a chance of showing his strength. While the political experts from the region claimed that show of strength is one sort of strategy for the political leaders once the elections are fast approaching.
