Governor Banwarilal approves Bill for providing 20pc quota for Tamil medium candidates in TNPSC

Governor Banwarilal Purohit has finally approved the 20% reservation for tamil medium candidates in the TNPSC examination today evening.

Banwarilal Purohit has approved the 20% reservation for Tamil medium candidates in the TNPSC examination today. The bill has been lying dormant for 8 months and has now been approved by the governor.

With the approval from the Governor, 20 per cent of the State government jobs will now be filled by candidates who had completed their education in the State language, Tamil.  Earlier an ordinance was passed by the State Government in giving preference to Tamil medium candidates in appointments through TNPSC.
The Tamil Medium Act 2010 came into force during DMK regime, and now after further amendment, the bill was sent to the Governor for approval.
