Speaking to reporters in Madurai on Monday, during the second day of his campaign here, Kamal when asked on the possibility of MNM joining hands with Rajinikanth’s to be launched party in the polls said, this was his view for the past one year and added “let us wait until December 31 for the launch of Rajini’s party.”

Further responding to queries, Kamal said Madurai, the ancient city, has all potential and cultural traditions to emerge as the ‘second capital’ of Tamil Nadu and wished it would become one soon.

On the ongoing series of protests by farmers in New Delhi against the Centre’s Farm Bills, he said it was unfortunate that their legitimate concerns remain ignored by the government and their livelihoods are adversely affected. Several cadres of MNM joined the farmers protest in Delhi and added that his party would extend all support to the agitating farmers.

The party’s main tenet is to eradicate corruption and ensure that not only low level employees are punished when found guilty of corruption, but high level officials should also be punished, he said.

Talking to entrepreneurs, Kamal said it was his desire to deliver good governance and convert Tamil Nadu into ‘mission’ oriented rule from ‘commission’ oriented rule. If such changes are not made, entrepreneurs will show no regard to the government. Moreover, he said the single window clearance system remains in the state just for a namesake, but was not active. Kamal then had a session with lawyers and said judiciary as one of the four pillars of democracy. Later, the MNM president inaugurated a party office at Usilampatti, sources said.
