DMK’s ‘we reject ADMK’ campaign to start from Kanchipuram

DMK general secretary Duraimurugan and treasurer TR Baalu will kick off their campaigns for the ensuing Assembly poll from Vellore and Tiruvallur, respectively.

DMK principal secretary KN Nehru and deputy general secretary A Raja will address meetings in Trichy and North Chennai, an announcement made by the DMK high command on Monday said.

The principal opposition party had launched a new online political campaign named “We reject ADMK”, targeting the ruling party for the ensuing Assembly poll.

In a message posted on his official Twitter handle Monday afternoon, Stalin said that over a lakh people had registered on the exclusive website in the first 24 hours alone. Stalin also appealed for adopting resolutions against the AIADMK in all gram sabha meetings named “We reject ADMK”, which are intended to remind the state people about the atrocities and failures of the ten-year AIADMK regime. Issuing a clarion call to his party functionaries to set aside their differences for the electoral victory, Stalin had advised his district secretaries on Sunday to organize “we reject ADMK” meetings for 10 days from Wednesday, December 23 to achieve 200 Assembly seat victory in the 2021 Assembly polls.

Ex-AIADMK mayor joins DMK 

Former AIADMK Mayor ‘Ganapathy’ Rajkumar has joined DMK. Rajkumar, who was also a former district secretary of the ruling AIADMK, on Monday met DMK president MK Stalin at party headquarters Anna Arivalayam and joined the party. Dr T Kalaiarasan, former head of the state BJP Medical Wing, also joined the DMK this morning.

DMK general secretary Duraimurugan and deputy general secretary A Raja were also present then.
