'Superstar' Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday.

The actor was hospitalised on 25th December due to blood pressure fluctuations while shooting for Annaatthe. While some on the film sets had tested positive for Covid-19, Rajinikanth was diagnosed negative. Since then he isolated himself and was monitored closely.
The hospital said in a statement that he was admitted with severe hypertension and exhaustion.
“His blood pressure has been stabilised and he is feeling much better. In view of his improving medical condition, he is being discharged today,” the medical bulletin said.

The medical report released by the hospital also had a two-pointer recommendation to Rajinikanth, advising him complete bed rest for a week and to stay away from tense situations and refrain from physical activities.
He has also been counselled to avoid any activity that increases the risk of contracting Covid-19, the hospital added.

In view of his post-transplant status, labile hypertension and age, the doctors have advised him minimal physical activity and to avoid stress. Rajinikanth's health conditions could deliver a blow to his much anticipated political plunge which he said would happen on January 1, 2021 ahead of Tamil Nadu's assembly elections.
