Will consider selling palm products in PDS soon: CM
Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Sunday said that the state will consider selling palm products in ration shops, while speaking at a community function here in Chennai.

He also recalled the contributions of Daily Thanthi founder Si Pa Aditanar, his sons Dr Sivanthi Aditanar, former chairman of Daily Thanthi group and Ramachandra Aditanar to Tamil society.
“I know the health importance of palm products such as palm jaggery and palm sugar as they are also made in my region. The state already has plans to sell palm products in ration shops and will consider the proposal soon,” said the Chief Minister. At a function organised to honour the achievers in Nadar community, the Chief Minister said that Nadar community stands as example of hard work and because of the hard work they have reached great heights in the society.
People who spoke in the meeting placed several demands from the government for which the Chief Minister said that he had been honouring their demands and recalled the announcement of setting up of a research chair in the name of former chief minister K Kamaraj.
Speaking about the demand of selling palm products, Chief Minister said that he has the practice of adding palm jaggery in tea regularly and assured that state government will implement their demand at the earliest.
