TN getting less coal: Electricity Minister
Electricity Minister V Senthilbalaji on Tuesday said TN gets only 48,000 to 50,000 tonnes of coal from the Centre as against the required 72,000 tonnes.

COIMBATORE: Speaking to reporters here, he said to overcome the coal shortage, the state has issued tenders to buy 4.80 lakh tonnes of coal.
“In the last 10 years, AIADMK implemented no new power generation projects and even those brought by the DMK were discontinued. Such projects will be identified and revived to increase power generation to meet state’s demands by next year,” he said.
