Name new bus stand after Kalaignar: Min Senthil at inauguration

TIRUCHY: The long pending demand of a bus stand has been fulfilled now and the civic administration should pass a resolution to name the bus stand after Kalaignar Karunanidhi, said the minister V Senthil Balaji after laying foundation for the new bus stand to the tune of Rs 40 cr at Thirumanilayur in Karur on Saturday. Speaking to reporters, the minister said, “Funding of Rs 40 crore was allocated for the new bus stand and it’d have all facilities, including the capacity to station 85 buses at a time.” The new bus stand is in the middle of Karur town, just 2 km from the town bus stand, 1.6 km from the City Corporation office and 3.6 km from the Karur junction railway station.
