Man dies after being strangled by python near Kaveripattinam

Nataraj, from Kaveripattinam died when a python wrapped itself so tightly around him. Later, his body was recovered by the fire department.

CHENNAI: Chinnaswamy is from a region of Kaveripattinam, close to Krishnagiri district. He is engaged in farming. In this instance, a week ago, he witnessed a python fall into his 50-foot deep well.

Nataraj has volunteered to take the python out of the well today. After lifting the python halfway up the well, the python and he fell into the well without bearing the weight.

Then the python wrapped itself so tightly around him. As he screamed, bystanders informed the Krishnagiri fire station.

The fire brigade led by fire station officer Venkatachalam who rushed to rescue Natarajan fought for a long time. But Nataraj died when the mountain python strangled him. Later his body was recovered by the fire department.

Kaveripattinam Inspector Murali has registered a case and is investigating.
