Over 35.31 lakh recovered from Covid in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu recorded 421 new cases of Covid on Tuesday.

Total number of cases is over 35.74 lakh. Chennai reported a slight surge with 94 new cases.

Coimbatore had 63 cases and Chengalpattu recorded 31 cases. TN’s active cases stood at 4,811 with Chennai reporting highest of 2,219 active cases.

Over 15,600 samples were tested. TN’s test positivity rate stood at 2.5%. Coimbatore recorded the highest of 6.3% TPR.

As many as 449 more people were discharged across the State, bringing the recoveries to over 35.31 lakh.

No new Covid fatality was reported. Death toll remained at 38,038.
