TNCC general council meet on Monday
The state general council is expected to discuss some crucial issues like its rival BJP’s Hindutva push in the state and the party’s offensive against the Modi regime.
CHENNAI: The general council of the state Congress will meet here on Monday under the leadership of its Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president K S Alagiri.
The meeting happens less than a fortnight after the party leader Rahul Gandhi concluded his four-day Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is on its second leg in Kerala, in the state at Kanyakumari district.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee’s (TNCC) election officer Gaurav Gogoi, AICC in charge of Tamil Nadu Dinesh Gundu Rao, AICC secretary Srivella Prasad and Congress legislature party leader in Tamil Nadu Assembly K Selvaperunthagai will also take part in the meeting.
The state general council is expected to discuss some crucial issues like its rival BJP’s Hindutva push in the state and the party’s offensive against the Modi regime.
The state general council of the Congress party would also ponder over organising agitations in protest of rising inflation and fuel prices.
Some key intra-party issues like the comments of Congress Parliamentarians from the state about ally DMK and the state of affairs of TNCC are also likely to dominate the agenda of the meeting. Members of the general council could also give some thought to the organisation shake up, wherever necessary, in TNCC.
The general council, in all likelihood, is also predicted to adopt a resolution like its Rajasthan counterparts, who resolved to elect Rahul Gandhi party president again.
