Light to moderate rains likely to occur in TN for 5 days: RMC

CHENNAI: According to the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), there is a possibility of moderate rain in Tamil Nadu for the next five days.

A press release issued by the RMC read, "Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to occur at one or two places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today and tomorrow due to the variation in the speed of the westerly wind. Light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning is likely to occur at one or two places over Western Ghats districts and adjoining districts, coastal districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and Karaikal from 21.09.2022 to 22.09.2022. On 23.09.2022, light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to occur at one or two places over North Tamil Nadu districts and Puducherry and Karaikal."

"As far as Chennai is concerned, the sky condition is likely to be partly cloudy for the next 48 hours. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms is likely to occur in some areas of the city. The maximum temperature is likely to be around 36-37 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is likely to be around 27-28 degrees Celsius," it added.
