‘Annamalai’s PA funded to stick defamatory posters on Stalin’

CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai City Police on Friday informed the Madras High Court that it was the personal secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president K Annamalai who had made financial arrangements to stick derogatory posters against Chief Minister MK Stalin in the city.

Representing the police, Government Advocate (Criminal Side) Vinoth Raj made this submission before Justice AD Jagadish Chandira.

The judge was hearing the anticipatory bail applications filed by M Arumugam aka Mannadi Arumugam and K Ramesh who were booked by Chennai harbor police station on charges of pasting the offensive posters against the Chief Minister in the northern part of Chennai city on September 11.

The police objected to granting anticipatory bail to the accused submitting that they have to conduct an extensive probe to find out several other people who orchestrated the crime.

The police further informed that there are several persons involved in the illegal act and the police had arrested Krishna Kumar, PA to BJP state president K Annamalai. The said Krishna Kumar was the man who planned, funded, and executed this act of defaming the CM by pasting posters in the city.

Recording the submissions, the judges adjourned the matter to September 27.
