Seven students rank first in TNAU admission

Seven students secured top rank in the admission for undergraduate courses in Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) for this academic year.

G Gobi from Pudukottai, Subha Sri R from Uthukuli, Karthick Raja R from Pudukottai, Dharani Sengottuvelu from Salem, Muthu Pandi KT from Erode, Harinika M from Dharmapuri and Raja Aishwarya Kamatchi R from Ramanathapuram scored 200/200 to secure the top rank.

The rank list was released on Friday by Vice Chancellor V Geethalakshmi. She said that 14 students scored 199.5/200 marks and three students came next with 199/200 marks. As many as 513 students have scored above 195 marks against 161 students last year. A total of 39,489 applications, including 15,111 from boys and 24,378 from girls have been received for the 10 undergraduate programmes. Online applications were received from June 28 to August 20 for the 8,980 seats.

M Harish Kumar secured the top rank with 200 marks in the vocational stream, while Surya K emerged a topper with 197.5 marks under the 7.5 per cent quota for government school students. Under the 7.5 per cent internal reservation for students from government schools, 7,773 students have applied for the 408 seats.
