TN forms district-level committees to address demands of MLAs

The committee will explore the possibilities of the demands of the MLAs , prepare estimates for demands and will submit them to the government for necessary action.

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government formed district-level committees to address top 10 demands of every constituency submitted by the concerned MLA. Government Orders (GOs) were issued separately for every district concerned.

According to the GOs, the district Collector is the chairperson of the committees with top officials of every department such as PWD, Health, Education, Agriculture, Revenue, Electricity, HR&CE, Veterinary and so on being the members. MLAs of the concerned district are also added as the members and if any Minister is elected from the district the concerned is also added as a member in the committee.

The committee will explore the possibilities of the demands of the MLAs , prepare estimates for demands and will submit them to the government for necessary action.

Chief Minister MK Stalin, under 'Ungal Thogudhiyil Muthalamaichar' (CM in your constituency in English) scheme, asked the MLAs of every constituency to prepare a list of top 10 demands or works that are long pending and most essential for the constituency and to submit them in 15 days. The list also included MLAs of Opposition parties. After obtaining the demands, the government commenced the preliminary works for fulfilling the demands.
