'Governor Ravi not here to teach Tirukkural, Kamba Ramayanam'
Commenting on the Governor’s activities, he said, “Ravi must act as a bridge connecting the Centre and the state and not teach Tirukkural and Kamba Ramayanam.”
TIRUCHY: Governor RN Ravi has been teaching Tirukkural and Kamba Ramayanam about which he has no knowledge, but failed in his actual duty to act as a bridge between the state and the Centre, said Tiruchy MP Su Thirunavukkarasar here on Wednesday.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting the ongoing multi-armed junction overbridge (Aristo bridge), the Congress MP said, the much-awaited bridge work, which was pending for the past eight years, would be completed by December this year.
Pointing out that the bridge work completion was one of his poll promises, he claimed that the cooperation between Centre and state was enormous and the land issue, which was delaying the bridge work completion, was sorted out smoothly.
The MP assured that the bridge would be dedicated to the public use within two months.
Among other things, Thirunavukkarasar appealed to provide proper recognition to both the factions of the AIADMK in the Assembly. However, the decision of selecting the Opposition er rests with the Speaker, he added.
Commenting on the Governor’s activities, he said, “Ravi must act as a bridge connecting the Centre and the state and not teach Tirukkural and Kamba Ramayanam.”
Stressing that Chief Minister MK Stalin, who has been elected by the people, has more powers than the Governor appointed by the Centre, the MP said, “Without knowing the limit, the Governor has been speaking in support of Hindi and Sanskrit and this is not good for the country and its democracy.”
