Stalin asks ministers not to let loose talks in Assembly

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday asked his cabinet ministers to exercise caution while countering opposition parties in the Assembly session that is set to start on Monday.

Chairing the ninth cabinet meeting, after the DMK government came to power, Stalin asked the ministers, who were recently embroiled in controversial talks, "not to let loose talks in the Assembly."

Sources who were close to the Ministers who attended the meeting said that the Chief Minister had informed them that AIADMK is set to raise the controversies that the Ministers were recently involved in and asked them not to lose their cool in the Assembly.

Sources also said that, in the meeting, Stalin had also informed the Ministers that the Saturday protest will be the first anti Hindi imposition protest of Chepauk-Triplicane MLA Udhayanidhi Stalin after DMK government took over and asked them to make the protest a success.

Earlier in the meeting, secretaries of Industries and MSME department briefed about the new investments for the state.

Recently, Industries Minister Thangam Thennarasu went to foreign countries to invite industries to invest in Tamil Nadu and the report was briefed.

Sources further said that the cabinet was also briefed about the preparatory steps to be taken for the upcoming northeast monsoon, which is about to set in a week's time.

The Civil Supplies department was directed to store the food grains in proper places and to ensure that no food grains are wasted in the monsoon season.
