Stalin inaugurates e-seva centres in all 234 MLA offices

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Thursday inaugurated e-seva centres in all 234 MLA offices in the state.

Stalin inaugurated the function at the Secretariat this morning by handing over desktop computers, user ID and password to nine MLAs.

State Information Technology Minister Mano Thangaraj handed over a modern desktop computer, user ID and password to the Chief Minister as a part of the inauguration of the centre in the latter’s Kolathur constituency.

A statement released by the government in this regard said that e-seva centres are being operated through TNeGA, Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV, Primary Agricultural Cooperative Credit Societies, Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation, Fisheries Department and rural entrepreneurs cum cantonment boards.

E-seva centres are being launched at MLA offices to further develop e-seva centres. The state government conducted its first paperless Assembly session last year and they were given desktops for the same. TNeGA (Tamil Nadu e-governance Agency) has created exclusive user IDs and passwords for all 234 MLAs to provide Internet services to people through the website (tnesevai.tn.gov.in/Default.aspx). State Finance Minister Palanivel Thiaga Rajan also took part in the function in which computers and IDs cum password were given to deputy speaker K Pichandi, chief government whip Govi Chezhian, MLAs K Selvaperunthagai, G K Mani, P Sinthanaiselvan, T Sathan Thirumalaikumar, M H Jawahirullah, E R Eswaran and T Velumurugan.

The Chief Minister also laid foundation stone for the construction of an integrated office complex for the directorate of legal studies and directorate of prosecution on Miller’s Road in Kilpauk. He also inaugurated the buildings constructed at a cost of Rs 31.67 crore for animal husbandry, dairy development and fisheries department.
