Besides this, students can also view results at national informatics centers of respective district collectorate or at NIC branch offices. Making it even more convenient, students can also get the exam results through any public libraries free of cost, stated the DGE circular.

Subsequently, the education department has also arranged for students to visit their respective schools to get the exam results.

And, in case of private candidates, results will be sent as SMS to the mobile number while registering for the exam.

It is important to note that government teachers and other stakeholders have been urging the education department to postpone announcing Class 12 exam results from May 5 to May 8. And, School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi agreed to the demands for postponing the dates.

The Class 12 exam was conducted from March 13 till April 3, where as many as 8.51 lakh students registered for the exam, including 4.03 lakh boys and one trans gender student.

Meanwhile, addressing the mediapersons on Wednesday, Minister Poyyamozhi agreed that the result date has been postponed from May 5 to 8 due to NEET scheduled on May 7.

Citing the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report, the minister said, "To reduce unwarranted expenditure, DMK government in the first budget session decided to not spend Rs 13 crore for replacing the former CM J Jayalalithaa's picture from students' school bags."

"Additionally, though it is claimed that a high number of students are opting for private schools in TN, the enrolment ratio in government schools, especially in the last two years have spiked,” he added.
