A set of photos of an injured man has gone viral. Posts claim the monk was assaulted by Bangladeshi immigrants in Vrindavan. They also suggest the incident was communally-motivated.
A man identifying himself as an activist, promoted the claim. Responding to it, the Mathura police tweeted that the news concerning Bangladeshi attackers is untrue. It further states that a personal dispute in Gaudiya Mutt sparked the attack.
