The first phase of voting for Bihar assembly elections commenced last week. A video of a person casting her vote on an electronic voting machine (EVM) went viral with the text, “The games have started. Voted for elephant (BSP) but was directed to BJP.” Alt News noticed that the woman has her hand placed over both the BJP and BSP symbols. Thus it cannot be said with certainty that the EVM was faulty. In fact, it is a one-year-old video that has been revived recently.
