“Hathras bhabhi became a farmer today,” wrote a politician claiming that a woman seen alongside Sikh protestors is Jabalpur-based doctor Rajkumari Bansal, who visited the house of the Hathras assault victim. It was alleged that Dr Bansal took part in the ongoing farmers’ protest as well. Alt News found that a photo from anti-CAA protests in February was misrepresented as that of Bansal taking part in the farmers’ protest. Bansal is not the woman in the photo.
