Amitabh Kant, CEO of NITI Aayog, found himself in the middle of a controversy when he was quoted by a daily as saying, “Too much of democracy hampering reforms in India” while speaking at a virtual event. Kant took to Twitter to deny it and said, “This is definitely not what I said. I was speaking on resources being spread thin and need for creating champions in manufacturing.” However political observers have said that the comment was made in a negative connotation.
