Fitness Mantra: Sonakshi makes healthy changes to her old lifestyle
With the recent confirmation of Dabangg 3, where Sonakshi Sinha will be back as Rajjo opposite Salman Khan, the actress has been all smiles. But that’s not the only reason behind her flushed cheeks, she owes it mainly to her fitness routine.

It’s a known story that Sinha once weighed 90 kilos but her transformation has been commendable. “I’m here to be a hero, not size zero,” the actress said during an interview — and she’s stuck to it because what’s changed is her steadfastness to become fit, not skinny.
She engages in various physical activities like hitting the gym — cardio exercises, cycling, functional and weight training form the core components. The actress also indulges in Pilates, hot yoga in a room-controlled temperature, swimming, playing tennis and spinning. Take note, this is for those of you who want to exercise but hate hitting the gym regularly because it gets arduous. Mixing up the kinds of physical activity you do, will beat boredom and also help exercise different parts of your body evenly and well.
“I used to love eating and gorging on junk but hated exercising.” Isn’t this a line most of us are familiar with? Guess who it came from — the Noor star herself! What helped her get over this was the will to do so that came from within her as well as a balanced and healthy meal plan. The word ‘diet’ doesn’t mean one needs to starve themselves, say many dieticians. It actually means you include all the vital elements the body needs like vitamins, minerals, fibre, carbohydrates, protein and more, reduce the size of your portions and consume healthy food at regular intervals.
Here are few steps you can follow, as suggested by Sonakshi:
- Give your kitchen a complete makeover and stock up healthy alternatives as opposed to junk.
- Try cooking at home as much as you can; ordering in isn’t as healthy or safe as you think.
- Stress at work or in personal life can led to hormonal issues like stress-eating so kick back and relax once in a while.
- Make sure you get seven hours of sound sleep every night.
- Your body cannot run on fumes, so hydrate it well — eight glasses of water a day is a good start.
