I have suddenly developed an outburst of pimples. What to do? —Nidhi Rao, Royapuram

You may have faced an allergic reaction to a lotion or a face-wash that may be causing the sudden outburst or it may be related to stress or change in hormones. Contrary to popular belief, pimples don’t necessarily mean your skin is dirty or unclean — in fact, over-cleansing can irritate your skin even more. It is best to avoid using any other oil or face-wash that can cause a reaction and it would be better to see a dermatologist who can prescribe the right medication.

Every month during my periods, not only do I have immense pain, but I tend to feel very sick. Is there a cure to this? —Riya Raj, Vadapalani

Exercising is an integral part of ensuring you don’t feel terrible during your periods. Using a heating pad can help you deal with the pain, but it is important to also keep yourself hydrated. It is essential to eat healthy food and get adequate rest while on your periods. Most importantly, maintain a hygienic period.
