Iron lady Thatcher voted most powerful woman in 200 years
Britain’s first—and so far the only—female Prime Minister was often called “The Iron Lady” for her tough, no nonsense approach.

Admired and hated equally, the former Prime Minister has now emerged as the most influential woman of the past 200 years, according to a survey of Britons published recently. Nobel Prize winning scientist Marie Curie, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth and women’s right campaigner Pankhurst follow way behind her.
Thatcher’s policies on trade unions, privatization and the Falklands war left Britain bitterly divided over her legacy, and the survey by British pensions and insurance firm Scottish Widows highlighted the depth of her influence in the country.
