The no-holds-barred reality show that will be broadcast live on the internet brewed quiet a controversy with the claim that participants will be allowed to engage in rape and murder. The deadly contest, dubbed Game2: Winter, is set to begin streaming by July.
The 30 participants, who include a former military man from South Korea, a student from Sweden, an actress and a model, have all signed a release of liability for injury as well as death. The main objective of the show is to stay alive till April 1, 2018. Organiser Yevgeny Pyatkovsky insisted that the producers would not intervene if something sinister were to happen. The organisers admitted that they will not intervene to stop even rape or murder, but stressed participants will be liable to the full force of the Russian law for criminal offences.
Contestants armed with only knives will have to fight bears, wolves and endure vicious gnats during a nine-month period on the Ob River.
