The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Saturday denied that Iran recently sent weapons cache to Yemen, Tasnim news agency reported.
Deputy Commander of the IRGC for Coordination Ali Fadavi shrugged off a recent claim by the US navy that it had seized advanced weapons believed to be of Iranian "design and manufacture" intended for the Houthis in Yemen.
On Thursday, the US navy said that it had seized an Iranian weapons shipment bound for Houthi rebels in Yemen.
"The US Navy interdicted 358 Iranian-made missiles plus other weapons components on their way to the Houthis in Yemen," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo tweeted on Friday.
"The Americans occasionally raise such issues to justify their defeats in Yemen," Fadavi said.
