Bolivia confirmed the country's first two cases of COVID-19, Health Minister Anibal cruz said.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, he further said the patients were two women in the departments of Oruro and Santa Cruz, who came to Bolivia from Italy.

"They are two women who are 60 and 64 years old, respectively, whose history shows they were present in Italy, a country that currently has coronavirus transmission," Mr Cruz stated.

Both patients were under strict quarantine, Cruz added.
