CHENNAI: While the world is still recovering with the 1st and 2nd wave of Covid-19, 2 new variants of Omicron virus have been identified to be highly contagious and of a greater risk.

"New Omicron variant BF.7 has swept to more provinces in China on Monday, less than a week after it was first identified in Northwest China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region," Global Times reported on Monday.
The BF.7 was detected on October 4 in Shaoguan city and Yantai and BA.5.1.7 variant in Shaoguan city.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) predicts that BF.7 variant will have the greatest impact not just in China, but worldwide. The BF.7 variant of Omicron virus is spreading fast in Belgium, Germany, France, Denmark and the UK.
