Disruptive tech key to exponential growth: CII
IoT is where every conceivable object can connect, collaborate and communicate to create value, said Thanga Jawahar Kalidoss, Head - Business Solutions & Technology Internet of Things, TCS at the Conference on Intelligent Industries, organised by the CII here on Friday.

He emphasised that Industry 4.0 is conceived with the idea of transforming the usual assembly line manufacturing processes into interesting and innovative business enhancement processes.
Gururaja Rao Ganga Prasad, Senior Vice President, Grundfos Pumps India Pvt Ltd said that presently most of the Innovative companies are trying to address the nine pillars of Industry 4.0. Besides looking at sustainability Industry 4.0 is aimed at promoting indigenisation across various sectors. He quoted from a survey that says just 1% of data is being utilised today and it is expected to grow exponentially.
Shankar Venugopal, Vice President -Technology Innovation & Knowledge Management, Mahindra & Mahindra highlighted the need to consciously combine the disruptive technologies with the right business model to create an impact. Kumaran Mani, Convenor, MSME Panel, CII Chennai Zone & Chief Executive Officer, Tenth Planet Technologies Pvt Ltd said that connection of difference technologies would facilitate growth.
The conference covered topics such as connected sets, connected operations, connected workforce and connected supply chain, covering specific case studies, new developments and ground-breaking innovations.
