"A convergence of new technologies, services and greater connectivity is reshaping the fleet sector, demanding new skills and creating new players and business models," said Shell fleet solutions business development general manager Parminder Kohli in a statement.

As fleet owners are struggling to acclimatise to this transition, Kohli said the company is offering Shell Fuels, Shell Fleet Prepaid programme and Shell Telematics.

She said Shell's solutions will enable a fleet owner to reduce operational cost and stay competitive with real time information about the fleet.

Zain Hak, Shell Fleet Solutions Asia general manager said the company has extensive fleet management experience across 30 countries.

"Our promise to our customers in India is to bring our most relevant mobility solutions from across the globe and offer them the right tools enabling transparent operations," said Hak.

Employing 8,500 people in India, Shell is present in India across upstream, integrated gas, downstream, renewable energy and deep capabilities in research and development.

The company also retails fuel in six states.
