Chennai
A few days ago, we reported that Vijay’s upcoming film with acclaimed director Lokesh Kanagaraj was based on the implementation of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and issues related to it. The latest is that young actor Arjun Das, who garnered rave reviews for his performance in Lokesh’s previous film, Kaithi, has been finalised for a pivotal role. The makers announced it on Saturday on their social media page. Interestingly, the actor has been roped in to reprise the role which was initially written for Malayalam actor Antony Varghese.
Earlier, the makers too had revealed that Antony Varghese would be part of the project and it would be his debut in Tamil. However, we hear that the actor decided to opt out of the project unannounced, due to various reasons and they had to call Arjun Das for the role. A source in the know of things says, “Antony was quite happy to be part of Vijay’s film. However, there was a little misunderstanding with the makers and he decided to walk out of the project. There were date issues as well.” The source also added that Arjun Das will join the team for their Shimoga schedule in the second week of December. Their next schedule will be shot in and around Shivamogga prison in Karnataka.
