A single from MGR’s version of Ponniyin Selvan is an instant hit

At one point of time in his career, he even set up a team for working on the project. However things didn’t fall in place due to budget issues. Now, Saneeshwar Animations International, a Chennai-based animation studio, has fulfilled the actor’s dream by completing the first part of the animated version of Ponniyin Selvan titled, Vandhiyathevan: Ponniyin Selvan Vol 1. On MGR’s birth anniversary, the team has released a single track from the animation film, which they have been working on for more than four years now. Composed by Ramesh Thamilmani of Periyar Kuthu fame and penned by Madhan Karky, the song is already a hit on social media.

The team is also animating late Jayalalithaa’s portions, who will be seen playing the female lead. Directed by Dhavachelvan, the film will be released in various languages.
