Turning 35 during lockdown was special: Jai

His friends ensured that Jai, confined to his home in Adyar due to the lockdown, did not miss them and surprised him with a cake that was delivered on Sunday midnight. Talking to DT Next, Jai said, “They had a specially designed cake made in the shape of my favourite car and got it delivered to me. I’m sure one of them would have baked the cake but they haven’t told me who it was yet. It was special to turn 35 during lockdown and to get this cake from friends under such circumstances has made my birthday even more special.” 

In order to maintain social distancing, Jai said that his friends from the industry wished him over phone. “It was done through a group call with Venkat Prabhu, Premgi, Leena, Rhagul, guitarist Prem, Athulya Ravi along with my sister Sandhya and my nephews Arjun and Aadhav and also my maid Sofi and her kids. It is important for us to respect the government’s decision and stay safe at our respective homes, which is the need of the hour,” he told us. “STR made a video call and said that if not for the lockdown we all could have celebrated together,” he added. The actor said that he would be shooting for Gopi Nainar’s film once life returns to normal. “We have completed major portions of the film. Gopi is a perfectionist and this film has been a huge learning curve,” he concluded.
