Nobody would refuse a script like Law: Ragini
Kannada film Law, which also marks Ragini Chandran’s debut premiered in Amazon Prime on July 17.
Chennai
The actress, who plays a lawyer in the film told DT Next, “Law isn’t a mere courtroom drama. It has various layers to it. Moreover, it doesn’t talk about an issue that would make the issue look preachy to the audience. It talks about an issue that we all would have come across and will keep the audience engrossed.” Ragini said that she never considered a career in acting. “I am an accidental actor. It was never my cup of tea. Initially, when Raghu gave me the script book I started it off like any other script. However, as I kept reading, I got engrossed with the storyline and realised that nobody would ever say ‘no’ to such a story,” she added.
On prepping up for the role, she said that the character of Nandini resembles her real-life persona. “Nandini is straight forward and doesn’t beat around the bush. That is how I am off the camera as well. So, to play that part was pretty easy. To play a lawyer, we had a workshop prior to the shoot,” added Ragini. Law is directed by Raghu Samarth and is co-produced by Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and M Govinda.
“Once when we were shooting for the courtroom scene, Puneeth sir had come to watch the shoot. He praised me for my acting skills and what else could I ask for,” she concluded.
