While his fans have been guessing how the director could have contracted the virus, here are some information. A source in the know of things told DT Next, “Rajamouli, Chiranjeevi and a few other prominent names from the Telugu film industry had approached the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao to seek permission for film shoots. KCR after listening to the proposals from the film fraternity gave a green signal to shoot with a 60-member unit. However, with RRR being a massive project, Rajamouli had asked special permission for a 200-member unit.

The test shoot took place with 200 people for three days, without the lead artistes. The virus had spread to the entire unit and Rajamouli wasn’t exempted. All 200 people from the unit were tested for COVID19 positive. Now, other units have also put their shoots on hold.”

Written and directed by Rajamouli, it stars Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Samuthirakani in important roles.
