Even before Kajal Aggarwal’s wedding pictures could stop trending on social media, the actress is back to work. She speaks to us on a video call on the side-lines of launching Hindustan Unilever’s new homecare brand, Nature Protect. Tell her that she has broken the hearts of several youngsters down south when they heard about her wedding to Gautham, she smiles. “Gautham is back at work today and so am I. I will also resume shooting for my films post Deepavali. I will be shooting for Sinamika and will join the sets of Indian 2 later,” reveals Kajal.

Apart from these, the actress has Acharya with Chiranjeevi, Mosagallu with Manchu Vishnu, and Mumbai Saga with John Abraham in various stages of production. “It will be hectic once work resumes. Mumbai Saga was supposed to release in June. However, my approach though towards my career will remain more or less the same as I have always made it a point to try different subjects in the last few years. I am greedy that way. All my films in the current line-up are different from one another. I forayed into OTT even before lockdown. In fact, I shot for my web series Live Telecast last year and was supposed to release in January 2020. It will release anytime soon. I have also listened to a variety of scripts during the lockdown. I have signed some but I will have to finish my current commitments before I start my new projects. I believe I will begin my new films in the second half of 2021.”

Having known Gautham for eight years, Kajal says that he is one person who has seen her ups and downs. “The latest development is that we have moved to a new house. We both have lived with our parents so far and are now acclimatising to the new normal of our lives. The responsibility of running a new house is quite daunting but also exciting,” she smiles and adds, “Gautham is a good friend and has been supportive in my choice of films. He has seen me in tears when some of my films haven’t done well. He has also seen me grow as an actor and as well a person,” concludes Kajal.
