Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’, ‘Pudhupettai’ to be re-released in theatres

In what has come as a huge treat to the fans of director Selvaraghavan, two of his classic movies are to be re-released on New Year’s eve. Director Selvaragavan and Actor Karthi thanked their fans for the overwhelming response received for their movie Ayirathil Oruvan. In the video posted by actor Karthi, he was all praise for the songs in it.

Ayirathil Oruvan which was released in 2010, is considered as one of the timeless classic of Karthi and Selva. Though the movie received mixed reviews due to the length of the movie and the intense plot, it later developed a cult status over the following years. The movie also starred Andrea Jeremiah, Reema Sen and Actor Parthiban in a pivotal roles.

Director Selvaraghavan -Dhanush- Yuvan never fail to create a mesmerising magic. One such movie is Pudhupettai which is also slated for re-release tomorrow.

Pudhupettai is a gangster film, which narrates the life story of Kokki Kumar – played by Dhanush - who aptly suits the role of a youngster turned gangster, living in Pudhupettai. The film has Sonia Aggarwal and Sneha as the female leads along with actors Azhagam Perumal and Bala Singh in important roles. Surprisingly 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi was also a part of the movie, playing one of the henchmen.

Both Ayirathil Oruvan and Pudhupettai had music that became chartbuster hits.

Meanwhile, in one of the recent developments, the team of Selvaraghavan, Dhanush, Yuvan Shankar Raja and Arvind Krishna is all set to come together for another film. Actor Dhanush had taken to his twitter to confirm the same, writing, “Selvaraghavan + yuvan + aravind krishna.. well well ... right where I started. Very happy to join my maker , my creator and the only reason I’m here today my brother @selvaraghavan again. I hope this time Atleast I impress him (sic).”
