CHENNAI: Actor-producer Arya talks to us prior to his Captain’s release on Thursday. “I have been busy with final release work and cannot wait to see how the audience reacts to Captain on its release,” the actor begins in an exciting tone. The trailer of the film has garnered critical acclaim for the storyline and the CG work that involves an alien-like creature.

“I hope the movie receives the same response as well. When Shakthi narrated the story to me, the concept was interesting. In movies, we see army personnel fighting a terrorist or another country but with Captain, he fights another creature. Shakthi has given a good backstory on what the creature is and the reason behind its existence,” adds the actor.

He points out the reason behind starring and producing this movie and says, “I agreed to do this only because of Shakthi. I wouldn’t have made Captain had anyone else approached me. He has given unique films like Miruthan, Tik Tik Tik and our previous collaboration Teddy. He has proven his prowess with such innovative scripts and Captain will again be a fresh concept.”

Captain’s CG is one of the most-discussed topics for good reasons lately. “Who said only Hollywood can make films with decent CG? We are well equipped as well and such technologies are available in our country to take good content. With good CG and content, Tamil films can not only be pan-Indian but also go global,” Arya remarks.

Talking about his upcoming projects he says, “I have forayed into OTT with Village which will have its premiere soon and I will be shooting with Muthaiah for my next which will be a rural entertainer.” Arya says that movie release will be his Onam plan for the year. “And then a good sadhya at some Mallu friend’s place,” he concludes.
