A slew of posters put up last week seems to have sent a few senior executives of the Tasmac into a tizzy.

The posters accuse the Tasmac officials of biased treatment to its staff after a flying squad inspected a Tasmac Elite liquor shop in Adyar on January 3 and suspended the staff for overcharging customers.

When the raid was carried out, the sales supervisor was not in the shop as he was on leave that day. Hence, all the staff except the supervisor were transferred.

This, however, did not go well with other Tasmac staff who were transferred. They demanded that the supervisor be shunted out too as he was also involved in the racket. They staff also alleged that supervisor was being protected by his superiors.

When the officials refused to oblige since the man was not present during the raid, a CITU backed union put up posters seeking his transfer and claimed he was protected only because he was a member of the AIADMK-backed union.

With posters sprouting in different parts of the city, the divisional manager and the senior regional manager are now in a spot and have asked the supervisor to opt for a transfer to avoid an unpleasant situation.

Surprisingly, although almost every Tasmac shop charges extra money, it remains a mystery why the squad hand-picked this particular shop to conduct the raid.
