    R Murugan (43), Juice seller

My native is Tiruchy. I came to Chennai when I was 22 years old to assist my uncle at a restaurant. I worked at the restaurant for more than five years. Later, I moved on to a grocery store and after three more years, I started my own juice shop. I did not go to school after Class 10 and was doing painting works in my native before coming to Chennai. I earn at least Rs 1,500 every day and now my family has also moved to the city. I have my mother, wife and two sons at home. My sons study in a government school in Guindy. They are interested in gadgets and advanced electronic devices. They want to study engineering and I will encourage them to pursue whatever their career interest is. However, it is difficult to survive due to natural calamities. I want to expand my shop to a restaurant but I don’t have the funds. However, I am certain my children will find better employment and help me fulfill my dream of having my own restaurant.
