PV Sivashankaran (30), Wedding photographer
I am from Kancheepuram. I dropped out of school after Class 10 due to various reasons. After that, I initially began working as a loader in the local market. But around this time, a close friend of mine advised me to look for a better line of work as my livelihood. That changed my life. When I thought deeply about it, I remembered how I used to be enamoured by photographers whom I saw at functions. Thus, about 16 years ago, I joined work at a studio at Kancheepuram and learnt how to handle cameras. Since then, while working there I learnt how to edit photos and videos. All this helped me in designing digital banners and also designing. Now, photography is my life, and I would like to continue this work till the end. I am really grateful to the person who advised me. That is the reason why I am now leading a happy and peaceful life. Now, I am advising youngsters to try their hands at photography and design as their career. Because the work is enjoyable, and there is no great pressure. I am telling to also to those who dropped out of school like me. About eight months ago, I got married. I am happy now, and would like to remain like this with what I have.
